Tamworth Future High Street

Client

Tamworth Borough Council

Value

£21.6m

A ‘once-in-a-generation opportunity’ to develop a modern Tamworth town centre. The project involves the tandem delivery of five distinct schemes, including restoring historic facilities and connecting high streets to heritage assets.

Working with a multidisciplinary team and varied stakeholders.

EDGE has liaised extensively with a wide range of consultants and stakeholders while leading this project.

We were brought on board by the borough council from the end of RIBA Stage Three.

Since then, we have worked with the main contractor and their dedicated consultant team including architects, engineers, landscaping designers and principal designers. This has been part of progressing and monitoring the Stage Four design.

The team has also worked closely with the council’s regeneration officer and programme manager, providing regular cost, programme and progress updates.

There has also been liaison with local and statutory authorities.

Adding value by reviewing scope and maintaining costs.

Encouraging innovative design and regularly reviewing the scope of this project has been key.

We have collaborated with the client, contractor and design teams to provide a fit for purpose public facility that falls within a tight publicly funded development.

The team has also provided in-house digital and information management specialist services for the project.

This extends to productive means of monthly reporting, utilising optimised and efficient technologies and software.

We aim to make project and cost management reporting as seamless as possible, whilst ensuring accuracy in EDGE document outputs.
