EDGE delivered Cost Management services for the University of Leeds Health Sciences Library, refurbishing a key learning facility within the live Worsley Building. The project balanced operational continuity, sustainability and technical complexity across a shared university and NHS environment.

Enhancing health sciences learning spaces

The project transformed study spaces, reading rooms, mezzanine and circulation areas to create a modern, accessible and inclusive learning environment. Works included internal reconfiguration, a new feature staircase, improved accessibility and upgraded building services. Delivered within a live teaching and clinical setting, the scheme enhanced student experience whilst supporting long term estate and sustainability objectives.

Proactive cost, risk and governance

EDGE supported the University through early surveys, collaborative workshops and structured change control to mitigate risk and maintain cost certainty. Working closely with Estates, Library Services and NHS stakeholders, we provided transparent reporting, cashflow forecasting and governance support. The project was delivered within budget, returning contingency and providing a transferable model for future refurbishment and net zero programmes.
