The Standard 3 EDS equipment supply and maintenance services and the integration works were procured separately. This provided London Luton Airport with procurement flexibility and meant the new Standard 3 EDS equipment was ordered ahead of appointment of the integration works contractor, and to get ahead of the worldwide demand and lead-time for Standard 3 EDS x-ray equipment.
